Child safety standards
DateVillage is for adults 50 and over. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form.
Who can use DateVillage
- DateVillage is designed for and offered to adults 50 and over. Members must be at least 18, and sign-up asks for a birth year and does not accept anyone under 18.
- The app is rated 18+ in the App Store and Google Play, and is not directed to children or teenagers.
- If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we remove it.
What is not allowed
- Any content, messages, photos or links that sexualize, exploit or endanger children.
- Grooming, solicitation or trafficking of minors, and any attempt to contact a minor.
- Using DateVillage to share, request or advertise CSAM.
Violations lead to immediate removal of the account and the content, and a report to the authorities.
How we act
- Report and block in the app. Every profile and message has Report and Block. Reporting also blocks.
- Human review. A person reviews every report, and we aim to act within 24 hours. Reports about children are handled first.
- Reporting to authorities. We report apparent CSAM and child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and to law enforcement, and we preserve information as the law requires.
- Compliance. We follow the child safety laws that apply to us in the United States and wherever the app is offered.
Report a concern
Use Report inside the app, or email our designated child safety contact at [email protected]. To report child exploitation directly, contact NCMEC at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.
